What this covers

This policy covers Threlay's three products, Develop and Mirror for macOS and Proof for Chrome, and the threlay.com website, all made by RelevantUse LLC. Other RelevantUse products are covered by the policy at relevantuse.com/privacy.

The short version

Develop

Develop runs on your Mac. Its threads, notes, reviews, plans, and settings are kept in your Mac's Library folder, and its logs in your Library's Logs folder. The handoffs, work orders, and requirements documents it writes go into your own repositories. Its window is served only to this Mac; nothing on your network can reach it.

What leaves your Mac, and where it goes:

Develop has no account with us and sends us no usage data. After it stops because of an error, it asks the next time it runs whether to send a crash report, as described under Crash reports below. Contact Us, in Settings, sends us a message, as described under Support messages below. If you also use Mirror, Mirror syncs Develop's threads as described below.

Diagnostics log. Develop keeps a diagnostics log on your Mac, in your Library's Logs folder beside its other logs. It records the moments that are hard to diagnose after the fact: when Develop asked you to sign in to a model or a tool server, when a merge was refused or left to GitHub to complete once checks pass, when a model's session had to be started again, and the outcome of each update. Each entry holds the time, what happened, and the rule or reason Develop used. It identifies threads only by a random ID and pull requests by number; repositories and tool servers appear only as one-way codes made with a key that never leaves your Mac. The log never holds file paths, repository, branch or server names, thread titles, message text, email addresses or account names. It stays on your Mac, keeps at most about 4 MB, and is never sent anywhere automatically. Copy Diagnostics in Settings copies the recent entries so you can share them yourself if you choose, and Contact Us can include the most recent ones, shown to you before you send.

Mirror

Your account. You sign in with your Apple ID. Apple gives us an account identifier and the email address you chose to share, which may be an Apple relay address. We use them to identify your account and to answer your support messages. Your passkey is created and kept by iCloud Keychain on your devices; we hold only its public half. Your recovery code is shown once and never sent to us.

What is encrypted. Mirror generates a random 256-bit key on your Mac. Your passkey protects that key, and Touch ID authorizes its use. Everything synced is encrypted with keys derived from it before it leaves your Mac: conversation logs, session files, attachments, generated images, backups of each Mac's settings and of the skills and pets you made, files from Claude Code sessions you started without a project folder, and environment snapshots. File names and conversation names are not stored in plaintext either. We cannot read any of it, and we cannot recover it if you lose both your passkey and your recovery code.

What we store in the clear. To move encrypted data between your Macs, our servers keep routing records: your account identifier, the name you gave each Mac, when each piece of data was uploaded, references to the encrypted objects, and their sizes. Storage totals shown in the app come from these records.

Environment sync. If you turn on environment sync for a Mac, its global settings, hooks, rules, skills, and instruction files are encrypted and synced like everything else. Files that look like credentials, keys, tokens, or databases are excluded before encryption. On the receiving Mac, comparison and review happen locally, and the results never leave that Mac.

Updates. The app checks for updates over an authenticated connection tied to your account. The check carries the app version and nothing about your content.

Logs and diagnostics on your Mac. Mirror keeps a log of what it does in your Library's Logs folder (Logs/Mirror), at most 4 MB, with older lines removed as new ones arrive. It also keeps a record of its last 50 upload retries and skipped files, and of which files most often changed while uploading, in its file in your Library's Application Support folder. None of this holds file names, folder names, paths, conversation names, your Mac's name, your name or your email address: a file appears only as the tool folder it belongs to, a short code made with a random key that never leaves your Mac, and its file type. These records stay on your Mac. Copy diagnostics, in Info and in the log window, copies them as text for you to paste wherever you choose; Mirror sends nothing when you copy.

Problem notices. When an upload runs into something unexpected, such as a file that keeps failing or a failed backup check, Mirror says on its Overview what happened to your files and offers Send report. That opens Help with the report filled in, which you can read and edit; nothing is sent unless you press Send. What it sends is described under Support messages.

Keeping and deleting. Encrypted versions are kept according to the retention rules you set in the app's Storage screen, and you can remove older versions or everything at any time from there. Removing a tool from sync or choosing Remove everywhere deletes its encrypted data from our servers. To close your account entirely, email root@threlay.com from the address on the account and we delete the account and its routing records.

Proof

Proof keeps your reviews, comments, checklists, and screenshots in Chrome's storage on your computer. It asks Chrome for access to the sites you visit so its panel is there on whatever page you review and it can capture screenshots of it. It also asks for Chrome's debugging permission, which only its diagnostics recorder uses, and that runs only when you start it.

Support messages

In Mirror, Contact us sends the email address and message you type to root@threlay.com. Help, available once you are signed in, sends your account email and message to help@threlay.com. A report from a problem notice is a Help message whose text Mirror fills in: what the notice says and the upload retry records, with no file names or personal details. Include diagnostics, which is on by default and shown to you before sending, adds the app version, the macOS version, your Mac's model (for example Mac15,12), and the last 50 lines of the app's log, which hold no file names or personal details.

In Develop, Contact Us in Settings sends the message you type to root@threlay.com, with an email address only if you type one because you want a reply. When a model's turn fails, the error window's Contact Us fills in a sentence naming the kind of error, which you can read and change before sending. Include Diagnostics, which is on by default and shown to you before sending, adds Develop's version, the macOS version, your Mac's model, and the most recent 50 entries of the diagnostics log described under Develop above. It never includes your Mac's name.

Each of these is sent over an encrypted connection only when you press Send. These messages are delivered through an email service and kept in our mailbox for as long as we need them to help you. Email you send to root@threlay.com from any product or this site is kept the same way.

Crash reports

After Develop or Mirror stops unexpectedly, it asks the next time it opens whether to send a crash report, once per crash, with Send, Don't send, and a way to read the exact report first. Nothing is sent unless you press Send, and each app's settings can turn the asking off. A report holds the product and its version, the macOS version, your Mac's model and processor type, when the crash happened, the type of error, and the program locations it stopped at, with your home folder written as ~. It never holds the error's message, your files or conversations, your Mac's name, or identifiers for your Mac or account. You may add an email address if you want a reply. Reports are sent over an encrypted connection to support.threlay.com, which keeps them for 90 days and does not keep your network address. Each report is also emailed to us at root@threlay.com through our email service, holding the report and the email address you added, if any, and is then kept in our mailbox like a support message.

This website

threlay.com is a few static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no scripts, and has no forms. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which sees the request for the font files. Our hosting provider processes ordinary request logs to serve and protect the site.

Where data lives

Mirror's encrypted data and routing records are stored with hosting providers in the United States. Support email is stored with our email providers. Develop's and Proof's data stays on your computer.

Children

Threlay's products are developer tools, are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
