threlay is a menu-bar app for macOS that keeps Codex, Claude Code, and Crosstalk conversations in sync between your Macs. Everything is encrypted on your Mac before it leaves, and only your Macs can read it.

How it works
You choose what syncs
On first launch threlay finds the tools on this Mac and asks which ones to include. Nothing is enrolled on its own, and each tool can sync every conversation or only the ones you pick.
Encrypted before it leaves
threlay creates a random encryption key that neither Apple nor the cloud ever sees. A passkey in iCloud Keychain protects it, Touch ID unlocks it, and a recovery code is the last resort.
Merges, never "conflicted copy"
Conversation logs written on two Macs are merged line by line. A session that is still open keeps writing to the same file, and nothing touches your git repositories.
What syncs
- Sessions, history, attachments, and generated images from Codex, Claude Code, and Crosstalk.
- Optionally, each Mac's global configuration: settings, hooks, rules, skills, and instruction files, reviewed file by file before anything is applied. Credentials and keys are always left out.
- Every version is kept until you remove it from the Storage screen. threlay never deletes local history.
